Our Story

Founded by pianist Aron Kallay and composer Isaac Schankler, People Inside Electronics has been putting on concerts since 2009, with programs including world premieres, ambitious mega-works by both young and established composers, and human-machine hybrid improvisations, just to name a few things. We've worked with visual artists, dancers, writers, actors, scientists and engineers too, and in 2010 we teamed up with fellow concert series In Frequency to bring visionary composer Annie Gosfield from New York to LA for a full week of events. KPFK's Global Village called us "The Wizards of 'Ahs'!" (we're pretty sure that's a compliment).

What do you hear when the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries collide? For us, it's a kaleidoscopic concert of fleeting sonic images, epic journeys and eerie doppelgangers. Performed on a rare 9-foot Fazioli piano renowned for its beautiful tone, these works promise to be astonishing, strange and a little bit trippy.

What We Need & What You Get

Your money will help us cover the costs of putting on the concert, including use of the venue space for the show and rehearsals, equipment rental, and recording, as well as funding the performers.  You can even support individual pianists directly with the "Sponsor a Musician" reward!
